What is the “customer centric innovation”?

Organizations are always trying to innovate, with varying degrees of success. Despite their best efforts, a common challenge remains: achieving sustained, profitable growth that is in line with investor expectations.

This growth gap often comes from not working to understand what the customer wants and then using that understanding to drive innovation.

This is where customer centric innovation comes in. CCI places customer wants and needs at the very heart of innovation processes. This strategy is not only about top-line growth; it’s about fostering sustained and profitable expansion that, in turn, pushes market capitalization.

However, this needs to be navigated with a balance between listening intently to customer feedback and navigating the constraints of existing policies. More often than not, the feedback we receive doesn’t neatly align with our policies. It may present itself as conflicting or challenging to incorporate into our strategic plans.

This dilemma highlights an essential skill set for today’s professionals: discernment. Knowing where to draw the line, what feedback to act upon, and how to adapt policies accordingly is critical.

By genuinely understanding and responding to the needs of our customers, we not only close the growth gap but also pave the way for breakthroughs that resonate deeply with our target markets.

To what extent do you agree with this?
