Minami Family HR System #7

A few days ago, I ran the Yokohama Marathon.

It took me 10 years to finally complete the full 42 kilometers without walking—a goal I’d long chased but never fully achieved until now.
The biggest lesson I took from this experience is simple: practice never betrays you.

For years, I trained, failed, adjusted and tried again. And over time, that consistent effort built both the ability and the confidence to finish.

Interestingly, this lesson connects back to our Family HR System.

An HR system, whether in a company or at home, is just a framework on paper. It helps define expectations and structure, but it can’t create results on its own. What really drives growth is daily practice—the steady, sometimes invisible effort that turns intention into reality.

In our family, I’ve seen how my own habits shape my children’s learning. When they watched me train for the marathon, they saw that persistence matters and that progress often comes after many unseen days of effort.

This month’s takeaway: systems guide us, but practice transforms us.
