As Forbes describes, the biggest change isn’t just smarter machines, it’s how humans learn, adapt and orchestrate alongside them. The rise of AI copilots, cobots and data-driven systems demands a workforce defined by agility, systems thinking and decision-making.
But even as factories evolve, one principle holds: standards matter.
I noticed this during a recent visit to a factory: Advanced automation was in place, but the lack of consistent standards meant low quality output. It showed how technology on its own doesn’t guarantee performance.
For manufacturers, the priority must be clear. AI should support disciplined operations, not replace them. Workers, managers and machines all need to align around proven standards if we want both innovation and reliability on the shop floor.
