AI with human

This Futurism article highlights an important issue: companies eager to cut costs with AI are now paying top dollar to have humans fix its mistakes.

Coming from the HR space, I see this as a strategic signal. Rushing to replace human expertise with automation may cut costs upfront, but it often backfires—creating hidden costs in rework, brand erosion and employee frustration.

Here’s how we should be thinking instead:
• Human judgement still matters: AI might generate a first draft, but it can’t grasp nuance, brand voice or what truly resonates. We need professionals to steward output, not just edit it.
• Trust is fragile: When AI misfires—and it will—organizations burn credibility. Fixing this requires care, not shortcuts.
• The future isn’t AI instead of humans, but AI and humans: This hybrid approach, where machines handle volume and people bring insight, is where real value lies.

In my opinion, the smartest path forward is not to sideline people, but to elevate them—arming teams with AI tools and recognizing that the most meaningful ROI comes from human-led quality.

If we lean into augmentation—allowing AI to support humans while humans shape outcomes we will not only avoid reactive costs but also build more resilient, differentiated businesses.
