NZ Labour day

Today is Labour Day in New Zealand, and it feels particularly meaningful as I slowly begin setting things up here.

As my work spans both Japan and New Zealand, I’ll be traveling back and forth between the two regions. This dual setup allows me to continue fully supporting my clients in Japan while using this transition period to gradually establish a footprint here before bringing my family over for visits and shared time.

Spending time in Christchurch has already brought new experiences, fresh perspectives, and the chance to meet people from different backgrounds and walks of life. I’ve enjoyed getting to know the local community, learning more about the working environment here, and understanding what makes New Zealand such a distinctive place to live and work.

Having worked across different countries throughout my career, I’ve always valued the insights that come from experiencing a new culture firsthand. The conversations we have and the relationships we build often teach us as much as the work itself.

Labour Day is also an opportunity to recognise the people who contribute to our workplaces and communities, and to reflect on how our experiences shape the way we work and connect with others.

I’m looking forward to continuing to build relationships here in New Zealand, learning from the people I meet and contributing to the community in my own way.

Wishing everyone in New Zealand a happy Labour Day!
