Earlier this week, we celebrated Children’s Day as part of Golden Week in Japan.
It’s a day to respect children’s personalities and celebrate their happiness.
This Golden Week, I’ve been travelling with my second daughter to visit six Japanese castles, which has made the time together even more special.
At home, it gives me a chance to reflect on my three daughters and how different each of them is. Their personalities, interests and ways of seeing the world continue to grow in their own directions.
It also shapes how I think about growth more broadly. We all develop in different ways, at different paces and with different strengths.
Children’s Day captures that in a simple, meaningful way.
